Raíces que dan vida.
Nuestro Seminario nació oficialmente el 25 de marzo de 1972, junto con la creación de la Diócesis de San Juan de los Lagos, por voluntad de su primer Obispo, Monseñor Francisco Javier Nuño y Guerrero.
Sin embargo, sus raíces se remontan a la Arquidiócesis de Guadalajara, de donde recibimos una herencia de fe profunda, vida espiritual sólida y amor entrañable a la Iglesia.
De esa savia brotaron las primeras vocaciones que dieron vida a nuestra nueva Iglesia particular y a este hogar de formación sacerdotal.
Con ese fundamento firme, y bajo el amparo maternal de Nuestra Señora de San Juan, el Seminario ha sido desde entonces cuna de innumerables vocaciones, signo vivo del amor de Dios que sigue llamando y enviando pastores al servicio de toda la Iglesia.
Fe y fidelidad.
Nuestra historia está marcada por el testimonio heroico de los Mártires Cristeros, seis de los cuales nacieron o derramaron su sangre en este mismo territorio diocesano.
Nombres como Santo Toribio Romo y San Sabás Reyes, así como los mártires laicos Beato Anacleto González Flores y el Beato Luis Magaña Servín, siguen inspirando a nuestros seminaristas a vivir su vocación con alegría, valentía y fidelidad a Cristo Rey.
Semillero de esperanza.
A lo largo de los años, el Seminario ha sido un verdadero semillero de fe, entrega y servicio.
De esta casa de formación han salido sacerdotes que sirven con amor en las comunidades de Los Altos de Jalisco, y también misioneros que han llevado el Evangelio a tierras lejanas como África, Chile, Argentina, Perú y Rusia, entre otras.
Asimismo, de nuestro presbiterio han surgido obispos que hoy pastorean diversas diócesis del país, testimonio de una formación integral, sólida y profundamente eclesial.
Entre ellos se cuentan:
Monseñor Pedro Vázquez Villalobos, Monseñor Juan Navarro Castellanos, Monseñor Raúl Gómez González, Monseñor Gerardo Díaz Vázquez, Monseñor Cristóbal Ascencio García, Monseñor José María de la Torre Martín y Monseñor Andrés Sáiz Aranda, entre otros.
Su testimonio confirma nuestra misión de siempre:
formar pastores según el Corazón de Cristo, al servicio de su pueblo y del Reino de Dios.

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.

We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
